  After picking up a leaflet when passing by their office in Nerja, we decided to book a half-day (morning) jeep tour through the Sierra Almijara with Life Adventure. It was... read more particularly convenient that we were able to book via WhatsApp, rather than having to visit the office during its limited opening times (we did pay for the trip at the office though). We were picked up from our hotel in one of the jeeps and then joined up with another one before heading into the mountains. The tour was a lot of fun, bumping up and down mountain tracks and passing through various villages, stopping at a number of view points and other places of interest. We were the only 2 British people on the tour (everyone else was Dutch) but, with 2 guides, this wasn’t a problem. The condition of the jeeps was a little problematic though, on our way back down from the mountain the driver’s door of our jeep kept on opening, which was a bit of a concern once we were back on public roads. The weather wasn’t ideal either – it started off dry and sunny but then became overcast and rainy towards the end of our tour, so we missed out on some of the views and had to put the roof cover on for the return journey, which made it very hot and airless in the back (and made me feel a bit car sick). The tour lasted for over 3 hours, the seats in the jeep were quite uncomfortable and the comfort break was at a picnic area with no facilities, so do bear this in mind if you have back problems and/or don’t like the idea of going for a wee behind a tree! Despite these minor issues, we had a really good time on our trip and would probably do it again in future in the hope of getting a proper look at all of the views in better weather.

Booking was very convenient and easy through... read more WhatsApp with very clear communication on where and when to meet. Michael was an amazing tour guide. Took us through the mountains which had great views! We stopped off at a hotel to have drinks and a chat. Also saw some goats along the way! Fantastic experience! Make sure you bring something to cover your nose and mouth as the dust will get everywhere - we didn’t bring a mask but the dust didn’t bother us that much! Definitely recommend if you would like to see Nerja from a different perspective!

Mecháel is an excellent guide and his previous... read more professional life *(see L.A. Website) more than equips him to take tourists to the places other guides cannot reach....the 'Heineken' of tour guides in Nerja! His lively and animated commentary which is very engaging takes your mind off the fact you are just inches from a sheer drop as he trundles in a respectable speed up a winding dirt track(previously used for mining so nothing like the M40) in his LR Defender one of a fleet. When we took a pitstop at a spring water pool which he encouraged us to dunk in (myself and a charming Dutch couple) he had a handy flask of hot coffee to hand ...or rum if you need it ...and you will as it's f....freezing in that pool. Whoa! I plumped for the rum which he retrieved from a handy cavity in the rocks somewhere...he clearly knows the area like the back of his hand. This is reassuring as I believe one should be mindful when choosing the right Company for this kind of trip in Nerja as the mountain roads are quite hairy...but not too scary if you're brave ....Life Adventure is the way to go! It's stunning at the top with spectacular views down to the sea but nature is a curious beast and you want a safe pair of hands if anything were to go wrong. There are cheaper trips available in Nerja but the way I look at it is ...my life is worth more to me than 20E of whatever and when you look at the terrain and vertiginous landscape you will agree that you want someone who knows what they are doing....Micháel does. Do it....it's worth every penny and I look forward to the full day excursion and/ or the buggy tour next time...why didn't he tell me I could drive! There is also a lovely lady who works in the office who deserves a mention 'Valerie' as she's so friendly and helpful on the phone. My brother-in-law said he would 'eat his shoes' if I went on the trip as he knows how cautious I am about these kind of things but the minute I walked into the Life Adventure office and met Mecháel I knew it would be fine. My Brother-in-law refused to eat his shoes but I did make him eat his words. Job Done!
